Page 1 of 2 | Single pagCrisis-hit Arsenal's woes worsened Saturday as a desperate 3-0 defeat at Manchester City blew their chance to close the gap on the goal-starved English Premier League leaders Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. The imploding Gunners suffered their worst result of the season, as the top three were all held to goalless draws - top club Chelsea at home to Newcastle, second-placed Liverpool at home to Fulham, and United away to Aston Villa.
Elsewhere, Portsmouth drew 2-2 with visitors Hull and Bolton grabbed a 3-1 win at Middlesbrough.Arsenal are now in serious trouble with dressing-room strife matched by dismal results on the pitch.William Gallas, stripped of the Gunners captaincy having blasted his team-mates in midweek for their lack of passion, was not even in the squad for the trip to Eastlands. And the damage worsened as Arsenal collapsed to their third defeat in four league games, leaving them 10 points off the pace in fifth place."There's nothing to clarify," Gunners boss Arsene Wenger told reporters when asked about Gallas's position, saying "of course" he had a future at the north London club."It's disrespectful to speak about the players who have not played today and worked for the team. The players who are not here cannot do anything for the club."I believe in this team and in the squad of course. We just have to not talk too much and keep our belief and be united and work together."City's in-form midfielder Stephen Ireland took advantage of a dreadful Gael Clichy clearance to score in the 45th minute.Brazil star Robinho scored a cheeky second in the 56th minute, chipping the ball over goalkeeper match-day captain Manuel Almunia. Two minutes after coming on as a substitute, Daniel Sturridge earned and scored a 90th-minute penalty to complete Arsenal's misery.Chelsea had 25 shots at Stamford Bridge but failed to score as their once imperious home form took another knock with a 0-0 draw against strugglers Newcastle.Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole missed the best chances for the hosts as Newcastle failed to get a shot on target.Meanwhile, Spain striker Fernando Torres returned to the Liverpool starting line-up but took his failure to score at Anfield this season to a seventh straight game as his fledgling partnership with Robbie Keane once again failed to click.
"We had a situation when maybe five players were well below their best. The players who had been away with their countries looked tired," said Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.

Vidic gets United off the mark top293
After the shocking 3-3 draw with Everton now Manchester United is ready to start their European adventure against Rangers FC.In previous season United are knocked with an Angle's flying kiss from Bayern Munich at the quarter final stage.Former Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda had said"Robben is more electric player and I would not change him for Messi. He is themore electric player ".The 26 year Dutch is on his peak at the moment and generally compared with the "Planet's Greatest Footballer" Messi. The winger is specially known for his gifted dribbling abilities and zig zag runs from the left or right flank which left the defenders for hell.Robben started his career with his home soil club FC Groningen in 2001 at the age of 17.At the club he had scored 6 goals from 23 matches in his first season where he attracted the eyes of Dutch giants PSV.The 3.9 million euros investment of the PSV Eindhoven did not go as a waste as the winger helped them to lift the League cup in the year 2003.The year 2004 was a little bit down fall for the crosser but however he managed to make a transfer to Chelsea-the English giants.Robben started showing his real qualities as he helped the team to win two consecutive Premier Leagues in the season 2004 and 2005.He also won the FA Cup in the year 2007.This year they will surely try to get further than that for which they will have to kick off things in a wright way.Sir Alex Fergusion had said that they are ready for the battle between two Britain clubs and symbolises that their ace Rooney will may play the Champions League opener. At the moment Devils are at the third position of the League table with eight points from 4 matches in other hand Ranger started their season with an all winning affair as they are on the second position with same points as Celtic. The Scottish champions ended previous years Champions league campaign with out a win and may face difficulties also this year with Spanish club Valencia included in their group.Till the end of 2007 season Robben was calculated amongst the best players of his generation.Arjen coasted Real Madrid around 35 million euros and did not disappointed the Spanish giants as he lifted the La Liga in 2008.In 2008 the master made his

And in terms of his discipline, Rooney must merely walk the line that divides aggression and stupidity. Most of the time Manchester’s favourite Scouser does this just fine, but he was right on the outer borders again against Gamba Osaka. thought I won the ball,’ he added. ‘I was just trying to win the ball. I thought I was unlucky with the booking. We actually had a meeting with FIFA officials and there was a long DVD on things they are going to look out for.

and Cristiano Ronaldo had put United in charge in the first half.Seconds later, however, Rooney ran on to Darren Fletcher’s pass to score with his first touch and from then on he was central to what became a rather chaotic final quarter of an hour.A header from Fletcher and then another Rooney goal - this time after running on to a Ryan Giggs through pass - gave the scoreline a 5-1 look that was hard on opponentswho had played gamely and bravelyWorryingly for United, though, Gamba were to score twice in the final five minutes as Gary Neville handled a cross from the excellent Ryuji Bando - Yasuhito Endo converting the penalty - and Hideo Hashimoto scored on the overlap in the first minute of added time.Yes, there were times when I was nervous,’ smiled Ferguson. ‘People got their money’s worth and I have to pay compliments to our opponents.Manchester United may be thousands of miles from home, in a different time zone, in an environment that bears no resemblance to the Premier League but familiar puzzles remain.

And how does he stop him finding trouble with referees?Rooney was in delightfully belligerent form as a late substitute to score two goals in a quite remarkable closing 18 minutes and was then booked for what appeared an unnecessary hack at Gamba Osaka midfielder Michihiro Yasuda.

Having seen a plethora of talent leave Old Trafford for the Bernabeu Sir Alex will be keen to get one over on a side that he greatly despises. Sergio Canales has been compared to Cesc Fabregas and anyone who has seen the teenager in La Liga action this term can attest to the 18 year old’s ability as the Racing Santander man continues to show maturity beyond his years.
It appears that uncertainty over the future of current Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini is leading many potential targets to think twice about a move to the Spanish giants and that could well give Manchester United the edge as they look to add more young talent to their ranks.Don’ forget to check out Online Football Manager!VN:F [1.9.5_1105]please wait...Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)Tagged Under: Manchester United, real madrid, Sergio Canales, sir alex fergusonRelated Posts:Wayne Rooney: The Man Who Held Manchester United to Ransom and Won United Plan £55m Triple Raid in Attempt to Rebuild After Likely Rooney Exit# Manchester United Set for £50m Bidding War as Wayne Rooney Threatens to Quit Old Trafford? What’s this nonsense that Ferguson “despises” Madrid? Torino meenutab Eesti suusatamise kuldmedaleid. Seekord toimuvad kergejõustiku Euroopa sisemeistrivõistlused, kus väljas meie noored sportlased. Mäletate 2006. aasta juunioride MM-il Pekingis sai Eestile lausa neli kulda, seejuures Ksenija Balta vigastatuna puudus.
See milleks Mikk mullu Pekingis terve jalaga võimeline olnuks, sai selgeks täna kaugushüppes.
Oleksi Kasjanov (Ukr) 2726
2. Mikk Pahapill (Est) 27213. Roman Šebrle (Cze) 2611Kahju veidi Miku kehvast 60m jooksu stardist, kus ta kaotas ca 8-9 sajandikku ehk 29-31 punkti... Ainus koledus sise-EM-il on tihti mängitav N.Liidu kole hümn. Homme pärast seitsmevõistluse 1000 meetri jooksu, naiste kaugushüppe autasustamise tseremoonial mängitakse Eesti hümni. Pilt pärit 2007. aasta Postimehe uudisest, kui Balta pääses 6.45 hüppega sise-EM-ile Birminghamis.

that Chelsea have top32
Thirty-seven games and nine months of high-intensity, high-quality league football have all led up to this. Club historian Rick Glanvill and club statistician Paul Dutton are ready for the end game...And the most pleasant way for that to come about would be a high-tempo start with plenty of early chances created - and taken. The prize is, of course, a great one. Can Carlo Ancelotti emulate José Mourinho by winning the Barclays Premier League title in his first season? It would be the third time in six years for Chelsea - unimaginable to anyone who sat through the 2-2 FA Cup draw against this Sunday's visitors 25 years ago.
In 2008, when the positions were reversed on the final day, United, leading the table only on goal difference, needed to match or better Chelsea's result at home to Bolton.
The Red Devils were playing Wigan, whose chairman Dave Whelan announced beforehand, 'There is nothing we would like more than to roll United over. [They] have got one hell of a fight on their hands.'In the event The Big Mo came down in Sir Alex Ferguson's favour. After a clear handball in the box by Rio Ferdinand went unpunished, Emmerson Boyce brought down Rooney for a penalty, converted by Ronaldo. As is customary, Paul Scholes might well have been dismissed for a second yellow and Emile Heskey headed over from close range before Ryan Giggs made it 2-0 with ten minutes remaining. Chelsea had gone ahead through Andriy Shevchenko 20 minutes earlier but conceded in the dying moments to finish 1-1.The two games in the tightest championship race since that day will be televised live simultaneously. The real Premier League trophy, designed by the jewellers Asprey of London, will be at one stadium, a replica at the other.United will be hoping that in this most unpredictable league campaign one more twist will deliver them a fourth consecutive championship. The chairman and players of Wigan, who beat Chelsea 3-1 at the DW Stadium in September, are making plenty of noise to the effect that they would like to do their neighbours a favour. All well and good - this Chelsea side is often at its best when faced with feisty opponents, especially at home. Never the less, following Emile Heskey's late heartbreaker here two seasons ago, it was reassuring to see Wigan getting their last-minute equaliser out of the way against Hull on Monday.
Chelsea will also be all out to avenge that shock defeat earlier this season. They will know where it went wrong. After a shaky start Wigan dominated the area in front of Chelsea's back four, with Jason Scotland having arguably his best afternoon in a Wigan shirt.
Most trouble came down the centre-left, with Hugo Rodallega threatening to run riot with his surging runs down and full-back Maynor Figueroa an able support act, swamping Chelsea right-back José Bosingwa.Chelsea had plenty of openings but were spendthrift in front of goal and paid the full price. Soon after Didier Drogba had beaten Chris Kirkland for a second-half equaliser, Petr Cech connected with Rodallega in the box and referee Phil Dowd decided to dismiss the infuriated Czech 'keeper. TALKING POINTS
Carlo Ancelotti's men won convincingly last weekend on an Anfield turf that has brought more Premier League pain than any other but, as Blackadder might say, this weekend against struggling Wigan there must be no room prepared at home for Mr Complacency.
A one-point advantage over Manchester United means that Chelsea need only match or better the Red Devils' result to wrest their crown for the first time since 2006.Everyone knows that the best approach is to go all out for a decisive victory, rendering United's efforts at home, to a Stoke side including some players 'training in their flip-flops,' redundant.

Soon after Didier Drogba had beaten Chris Kirkland for a second-half equaliser, Petr Cech connected with Rodallega in the box and referee Phil Dowd decided to dismiss the infuriated Czech 'keeper.Rodallega converted the penalty and the ten-man Blues, desperately chasing an equaliser, were punished with a last-minute third for Paul Scharner, who was used in an attacking midfield role.It was the first time the Latics had ever beaten a 'big four' side, and brought Chelsea's 11-game winning streak to a shock halt. More recently Roberto Martinez's side have seen off Liverpool and Arsenal - also at home.Their record against more successful sides away is far less impressive. They lost 0-4 at the Emirates, 1-2 at Anfield, 0-5 at Old Trafford and at White Hart Lane, don't forget, shipped an extraordinary nine goals.
The Lancastrians do not like the capital one bit. On their last trip to fellow strugglers West Ham they lost 2-3, bringing their total of goals conceded to 31 over ten defeats in all competitions in the Smoke. In fact, the Latics' are the least in-form away side in the Premier League, worse than Hull, West Ham, Bolton and Burnley. They have lost the last five on their travels, scoring three and conceding 13 over the duration (including four at Bolton). Overall, outside the DW Stadium they have only scored 18 but conceded an unhealthy 47 - 2.6 per game.In contrast, Carlo Ancelotti's men are defending the league's best home record, including a goals-for tally of 60 (3.3 per game) with 14 for the visitors. That is 11 more than the 'great entertainers' Barcelona (who have played one game fewer), and 22 more than José Mourinho's Inter and 21 more than their Champions League final opponents Bayern Munich.Only two teams, Everton and Manchester City, have taken points away from fortress Stamford Bridge. The Blues' last four home matches have produced a quartet of wins and an aggregate scoreline of 19-2. Such is the task required of Wigan if they are to gratify their Mancunian friends.Chelsea have beaten the same side home and away ten times this season (two short of our 2004/5 record, 12). That includes a clean sweep of wins over the others from last season's top four. No other side has managed that feat in the history of the Premier League.that Chelsea have
